Nevada Alcohol Education Cards
This online service allows you to obtain your Alcohol Education Card on your computer. You do not have to attend one of the TAM card brand classroom locations. The law recognizes this as the same card as the branded TAM Card. You must be 16 years of age to take this course. As of 7/1/07 there are no more renewal courses; if you card is expired you must take the complete class again.
Nevada requires all persons who work in the following positions to obtain an Alcohol Education Card or TAM card:
- 1. Individuals working at any
establishment or venue, for
any length of time, who sell or serve alcohol to the public.
- 2. Individuals working as security guards
at alcohol serving establishments.
- 3. Individuals working at retail stores
that sell alcohol.
"TAM" has become a slang term for Alcohol Education
Cards. The trademark TAM ® is owned by TAM of Nevada, Inc. and stands for Techniques of Alcohol Management. This is a company that had a monopoly on issuing Alcohol Education
Cards. In July 2007 the state of Nevada gave authorization to our company to offer the course online via this web site. Cards are valid state-wide and are valid for a period of 4 years. If you are serving or selling alcohol for any reason (except for private parties in your own home) you must obtain a card regardless if you are charging for the alcohol or not.
